We have an old/new forum

I spent some time reflecting on the old forum we started over six years ago to build communication between students and teachers. It was a great tool. It provided tons of good information and allowed us to learn while we were not in the gym. All around it is a free communication and learning tool that helps our students grow. I have made some general updates to the forum for ease of use and will continue to grow and expand to fulfill the other programs that we offer at Community Martial Arts.

We ARE having Classes Tonight in Mount Vernon

YES WE WILL HAVE CLASS TONIGHT

We received a call last night that the Mount Vernon School District was closed due to damages to the Farmersville Elementary school. However, while the district did close for the day, and our normal school policy is for our school to close, we have chosen to stay open as we believe that this wasn’t a student safety concern in regards to travel to the school or a school holiday.

We hope to see you in class tonight.

Pressure Point Charts

Many of you have been asking me where to find some great pressure point charts. Here are the charts I used to help me get started. I hope they help you as well.

You can use them to identify striking points when working on your forms or places to hit when doing your self defenses. Always think in the back of your mind “angle and direction.”

Angle and direction will guide you in knowing how to strike the point based on either the technique in the form or the technique described in your self defense.

Whether you are studying Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, MMA or Boxing, pressure points can help you better understand how the self defense works to your own advantage.
