I am happy to say that we are now offering Little Ninja classes during the day. These classes are great at teaching children the fundamentals of martial arts, coordination, confidence and is a lot of fun. Children learn in a fun game environment that helps kids role play and learn respect, confidence and self control. Little Ninjas that have participated in our program over a year have advanced successfully to our kids adult class. Many are ahead of other kids their own age simply because the experience they gain from this class.

Weight Loss Tips For Kids

Do you want to lose weight or help your children lose weight?

I hear a lot about losing weight on a daily basis, now that obesity is being recognized as an increasing problem. Seems to me that it should be more important now than ever. Overweight kids often try things like the South Beach Diet, Atkins Diet, or even pills to lose weight. Believe me, I have tried these weight loss programs myself. They rarely if ever have long term sustainable results. Sure they look great on the infomercial… but what will give me the long term results I need?

So what is the quick and easy answer to losing weight?

Diet and exercise of course.

Everyone knows that a healthy diet and regular exercise are the big answers to losing weight and staying at a healthy weight. I can tell you many of the reasons for our ever growing health problems that is causing more kids and adults to be overweight:

  • fast food
  • larger portion sizes
  • increased inactivity

Nobody is going to find one single thing that they can easily change and make fewer children overweight.

For most people, it is a combination of all of these things.

And so the problem is more how do get your children motivated to eat healthier and exercise. That’s the hard part. Even if you can get motivated to start eating better and exercising more, keeping it up is even harder.

That is where I come in!

Kettle Bells are an awesome way to get in shape quickly

Last night, Jennifer and I trekked out  and purchased our first round of fitness equipment, resistance bands, and other equipment for the fitness boot camps we will be launching in the very near future.

We believe we will be launching the first class September 9th to bypass all the distraction from the Labor Day weekend.

Kettle Bells are the new rage for core body and strength training. The process of lifting builds the muscles quickly as well and helps with grip strength in the hands. Kettle Bell training also burns calories which aid in weight loss.

We bought resistance bands which are highly beneficial to add strength training to your work out. Resistance bands are great because they give you an even resistance through the entire work out.

We also picked up exercise balls which are awesome to help build core muscles for abs and back. We will use them in our workouts to encourage safe ab, back, and chest building exercises.

If you haven’t guessed it, I am pretty excited about this new program. Not only is it going to be great for overall weight loss, it is a complete system of weight loss and nutrition that will help you manage it every step of the way. I don’t know if you have priced out a personal trainer before, but I will tell you that to get the same benefits that you would receive from this program using a personal trainer, you would be paying two to three times the price as this program and you probably wouldn’t get a good nutrition plan.

Included in the package for new boot campers is our Fighting Fit Nutrition Planner. Each student receives a free copy. Normally purchased for $30. This manual is fantastic and helps you manage your training and food intake on a daily basis. Simply put, this program is ‘done for you.’ All you have to do is follow the directions.

We recommend starting off with completing at least one four-week boot camp before you start learning fighting skills; after you’ve finished your first four weeks in HK Boot Camp you are welcome to start learning fighting skills in our other classes.

“How Often Does the Camp Meet?”

New participants workout two to three days a week; more advanced trainees may choose to work out more often by attending at more than one location.

“What Happens During Bad Weather?”

Indoor training sessions are the norm during bad weather days. rain-kidsUnlike other boot camp programs, you’ll always get your workouts in at HK Boot Camps!

Healthy Kids Boot Camp training session begins promptly at the designated start time. A schedule will be provided to recruits to let them.
